Do you love your dog but struggle with his undesirable behaviors, like jumping on people, lunging, aggression or fearfulness? Does he tow you down the street at the end of a leash?  I can help you create the life you envisioned when you brought a dog into your home.

Find out how easy it is to have a stable dog, and to enjoy the companionship and affection of your dogs once you provide "The Four Essentials to a Stable Dog: Leadership, Walks, Rules, and Good Nutrition."  What you learn may forever change your relationship with your dog...for the better!

"What I love about this technique is that it’s natural; it's dog psychology, it’s gentle and very humane.  This work changes lives…and saves lives!

"I will work with any dog – as long as the owner is willing to change."

Maryland’s Dog Whisperer, Susie Homire, is available for private consultations, group demonstrations, and symposia to help any organization learn how to rehabilitate and handle dogs properly.

It’s not hard…it’s just different.”  There’s Hope!

What is normal behavior for a dog?
Better yet, what is NOT normal?  Aggression of any type, pulling on a leash, jumping, barking, fearfulness--these are NOT normal behaviors in dogs, yet owners accept this behavior!  I will teach you to become a calm pack leader and help you rehabilitate your dog to become a calm, submissive dog.

How can I change my dog’s behavior?

All dogs need four things: Leadership, walks, rules, and good nutrition(c).  Provide these four things for your dog, and you will experience the rewarding, loving relationship you imagined when you decided to get a dog.

My Dog Doesn’t Listen to Me!

Dogs don’t understand English, so negotiating, pleading, and yelling won’t work! Dogs feel your energy, and are keen observers of body language.  If you are angry or frustrated, or if you are yelling at your dog, he will see you as an unstable leader. Dogs won’t follow an unstable leader.

Dogs are not people--human psychology doesn’t work on them! Dog Whispering is about treating your dog like a dog…and teaching people to become the leaders of their pack.

Dogs respect and follow calm, stable leaders, and will relax and be a dog once they realize someone else is in charge.

Can I still be affectionate with my dog?

Of course! But not until he has a stable mind…a calm energy.  This is the time to show affection.  We don’t want to reward an excited, fearful, or otherwise unstable mind.

What About Obedience Training?

Dog whispering is about changing behaviors; it is not obedience training!  An aggressive dog can go through obedience training and learn to sit, stay and lie down, but he’s still an aggressive dog.  His behavior has not changed!  Obedience training teaches dogs tricks. Dog whispering changes behavior.

Once your dog is stable and calm, he could excel at obedience training!  Dog whispering and obedience training are very different methodologies, used for different purposes, but can complement each other well.

What Happens to “Bad Dogs”?

Dogs with issues such as jumping on people, barking incessantly, showing aggression to people or other dogs—are frequently relinquished to shelters where they are labeled “unadoptable,” and euthanized for their behavior problems.  America’s Dog Whisperers want to change this! Very few dogs are truly unadoptable. Most dogs labeled as “bad dogs,” are not BAD--they have never had any leadership, and have developed undesirable behaviors in its absence.  Provide leadership consistently, and a “bad” dog becomes a good dog.  We want to save as many dogs as possible from being taken to shelters, or “put down” because of their behavioral issues.
