Susie Homire
Susie Homire, DVM, graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine. She spent many years in small animal practice, where she practiced medicine, surgery and dentistry, as well as canine and feline behavior modification. Today she focuses exclusively on canine behavior, and rehabilitating dogs with behavior issues. Susie draws on her 30 years of experience and training to teach dog psychology to dog owners, including leadership, communication, energy and body language, and rehabilitates dogs with issues such as aggression, fearfulness, separation anxiety, relentless barking, eliminating in the house, and many others.
Susie works primarily in Maryland, Virginia, and DC, and occasionally travels to other states to help people with their dogs. She advises a number of local dog rescue organizations as well as a no-kill dog sanctuary in Dakini Valley, Arizona, Tara’s Babies Animal Welfare. Susie fosters and rehabilitates rescued dogs for Merlin’s Kids, for use as therapy, service or companion dogs for special needs children.
